So many times people looked at us like we were crazy. Why are you doing this? Why are you trying that? Why are you dreaming so big? And sometimes now, with a little more maturity, I look back and think, okay, maybe a few things were a bit crazy ahahah. But they also helped us keep going. They helped us not stop just because someone else thought something was impossible, too hard, or not worth trying.

Without even realizing it, our answer was always, why not?

And when I look at Clara now, so happy, growing so much, and finding her own way in this world, I can see that every step mattered. Even the hard ones. Even the uncertain ones. Even the ones that made no sense to other people.

So this painting is my little reminder to you. WHY NOT? Why not try? Why not dream bigger? Why not do the thing your heart keeps asking for?

Hi, I’m Clara.

I had a stroke inside my mom’s belly, so I can’t speak, read, or write—but I understand three languages and use art to share my feelings with the world.

I started painting when I was 11, just for fun. Then I read a book about Frida Kahlo and everything changed. She became my muse, and I decided to follow her steps. At 12, I had my first art exhibition—and never stopped.
