Ocean, original
Look what we found in Clara's studio! We believe Clara painted this one while she was working on her Oceans Collection. Probably one of those moments when she was waiting for us to get something ready and decided to keep painting.
I love the blues, the little touches of purple, and all the textures. It really reminds me of the ocean, with all its movement and different shades of color. And the Oceans Collection has a very special story for us.
Clara used to be afraid of the ocean. With her mobility challenges, being in the water was not easy. But then she met Timothy, who helped her discover surfing. And OMG, who would have imagined that Clara would fall in love with catching waves?
That experience inspired her to create the Oceans Collection.
I want to share a little of what Clara said about it:
"Life was not always easy for me. I had a stroke in my mom's womb, and that caused cerebral palsy and 11 other diagnoses. I even know all of them by name. But I never gave up. I try to say yes to life. Even when mobility is difficult. Even when communication is difficult. And then life gives me angels. To help me. To inspire me. To make me thrive, despite everything. Timothy is one of those angels. He helped me stop fearing the ocean. I never knew I would love dropping a wave so much. It inspired me to paint about the ocean. And I love this collection."

Hi, I’m Clara.
Sometimes people tell me I shouldn’t dream so big. That because I can’t speak, read, or write, I should “stay quiet.” But I don’t want to stay quiet. I want to paint louder.
I had a stroke while I was still in my mom’s womb. The doctors told her my life would be a nightmare. But here I am — building my future.
Even though I can’t speak, read, or write, I understand three languages — English, Portuguese, and Italian. I guess my brain found its own way to communicate, just not the one doctors expected.
I’m writing this with the help of my mom (my business partner, my best friend, and my biggest cheerleader) and ChatGPT — and reading it with my text-to-speech app.
Painting became my language. It’s how I share everything I can’t say with words — my love, my anger, my hope, and my joy. Because even if my voice sounds different, I want you to hear me.
