48 x 30" (121.9 x 76.2 cm): Many times, the things we want the most also make us a little afraid. But if it is connected to our dreams, we still have to try. Being brave does not mean you are not scared, it means you take a step anyway. I remember when we decided to change our lives and move to the United States. I was selling my company and applying for the visa, but we hadn't told the kids yet because we were waiting to see if everything would work out. Clara was 12 and somehow she understood just by watching us. She did not say anything. Instead, she made a drawing for the school principal, thanking him for everything and saying goodbye. That was the moment we realized she already knew. She took her time to process her feelings and put them on paper, and I think she was also trying to protect us from more worries. Half scared, fully brave. I think many of us know that feeling, and that is what this painting is about.
Twenties Collection celebrates Clara turning twenty! I still cannot believe she is already 20! Pinch me! It feels like yesterday she was a little girl painting just for fun.
Twenties is about love, hope, resilience, and courage. It is about being yourself and choosing to be happy, no matter what. Clara has this special way of looking at life with pure eyes, finding beauty everywhere and facing adversity of an extra load of courage!

Hi, I’m Clara.
Sometimes people tell me I shouldn’t dream so big. That because I can’t speak, read, or write, I should “stay quiet.” But I don’t want to stay quiet. I want to paint louder.
I had a stroke while I was still in my mom’s womb. The doctors told her my life would be a nightmare. But here I am — building my future.
Even though I can’t speak, read, or write, I understand three languages — English, Portuguese, and Italian. I guess my brain found its own way to communicate, just not the one doctors expected.
I’m writing this with the help of my mom (my business partner, my best friend, and my biggest cheerleader) and ChatGPT — and reading it with my text-to-speech app.
Painting became my language. It’s how I share everything I can’t say with words — my love, my anger, my hope, and my joy. Because even if my voice sounds different, I want you to hear me.
