12x12" (30x30 cm): Clara has been going to the gym at 5:30 am, almost every day for three weeks now. The first two weeks were super difficult, lots of tears, Carlo with all the patience in the world by her side. Then her leg got stronger, a little straighter. She was able to do the stairs without touching the handle. And now every morning she takes a hand, walks in with a big smile, and at the end of the session she runs to the stairs and tries something new, with that big smile that fills the whole room. That moment of pure joy is what this painting is about. When we are ready to see the beauty around us, it is everywhere. It was always there, just waiting for us to look up.
Moments is what happens when Clara is in the studio, waiting for a painting to dry, or just catching her breath between one thing and the next. Instead of stopping, she picks up a brush and paints something just for herself. A flower, a face, a heart, a splash of color... Just Clara and whatever was going on inside her at that moment. That's what you get with each one of these little pieces: a moment of hers, saved on a little canvas, ready to live on your wall, bringing lots of joy to your life!

Hi, I’m Clara.
Sometimes people tell me I shouldn’t dream so big. That because I can’t speak, read, or write, I should “stay quiet.” But I don’t want to stay quiet. I want to paint louder.
I had a stroke while I was still in my mom’s womb. The doctors told her my life would be a nightmare. But here I am — building my future.
Even though I can’t speak, read, or write, I understand three languages — English, Portuguese, and Italian. I guess my brain found its own way to communicate, just not the one doctors expected.
I’m writing this with the help of my mom (my business partner, my best friend, and my biggest cheerleader) and ChatGPT — and reading it with my text-to-speech app.
Painting became my language. It’s how I share everything I can’t say with words — my love, my anger, my hope, and my joy. Because even if my voice sounds different, I want you to hear me.
