The more I look at this piece, the more I see a warrior rising: like a phoenix coming up from the ashes. That purple form in the center with the orange wings, those sweeping movements of color, the way everything seems to be lifting up and transforming. Maybe you'll see it too, or maybe you'll see something completely different. That's the beauty of abstract art. It shows you what you need to see.

For me, the phoenix fits perfectly with Clara's story. The phoenix in mythology is that legendary bird that goes through death and rebirth, symbolizing renewal, triumph over adversity, rising young and new from the ashes. That's Clara. That's her journey of defying odds, of getting knocked down and getting back up, of transforming challenges into something beautiful.

This canvas is special because it was recycled by Carlo, Clara's dad. Carlo is the one who helps Clara in the studio: opening and closing paint, cleaning brushes, moving things around. They develop projects together, like this canvas, and then Clara turns them into art.

Hi, I’m Clara.

Sometimes people tell me I shouldn’t dream so big. That because I can’t speak, read, or write, I should “stay quiet.” But I don’t want to stay quiet. I want to paint louder.

I had a stroke while I was still in my mom’s womb. The doctors told her my life would be a nightmare. But here I am — building my future.

Even though I can’t speak, read, or write, I understand three languages — English, Portuguese, and Italian. I guess my brain found its own way to communicate, just not the one doctors expected.

I’m writing this with the help of my mom (my business partner, my best friend, and my biggest cheerleader) and ChatGPT — and reading it with my text-to-speech app.

Painting became my language. It’s how I share everything I can’t say with words — my love, my anger, my hope, and my joy. Because even if my voice sounds different, I want you to hear me.

I was honored to be named an Internet Gamechanger by Forbes and Facebook for the positive impact I’ve made on inclusion and creativity.

Clara is speaking louder than ever in this new collection, and wow, do we hear her.

Unmuted is full of surprises. You'll see tiny, careful drawings where Clara used hundreds of little shapes to build something bigger—like a giraffe with a rainbow tale she saw at the zoo, or Chocolate, her guinea pig who she loved so much, or a friend's dog. You'll find these mix, big paintings, small artworks, some bright colors and glitter cnstrating with  pieces are soft and gentle with pastels. 

The animals in these works are special. Animals don't use words either, but they communicate everything—through how they move, how they look at you, how they just are. Clara gets that. She sees herself in them. And when she paints them, she's painting her own voice too.

What we love most about this collection is the freedom in it. Clara is experimenting, taking risks, making art that's mirror her. Small pieces, medium ones, huge canvases that are 48x60 inches—each one is Clara saying something that we still need to look, star at it, handle our emotions and be ready for a wave of beauty.
