This is one of Clara's sweetest artworks, and it has a beautiful story behind it.

Clara painted this, inspired by her friend Chef Savan's love for elephants, whom she met through another friend, Chef Mattia. Clara and Chef Savan became close because they share three passions: sweets (Chef Savan makes the best sweets in the world), animals, especially animals with disabilities, and painting. Chef Savan is also a painter, so they understand each other's art.

Chef Savan is an advocate for elephant rights and has adopted several elephants to free them from abusive tourist sanctuaries. One of these elephants is blind and deaf. Clara wanted to honor this elephant, so she painted one without a trunk to show its disability. But here's the thing: every time someone sees this artwork, they think it's a dog! Clara always corrects them: "It's not a dog, it's an elephant." We love that confusion because it's so perfectly Clara. Nothing is straight, nothing is ordinary. Everything is adapted, flexible, and beautiful in its own way.

Clara and her dad, Carlo, designed this canvas tilted instead of straight. Carlo says, "Everything that is out of the ordinary is our starting point." That's their philosophy: adaptability and flexibility, just like this DogPhant.

And look closely at the body. There's a delicate heart painted there. When I was archiving photos of this masterpiece, I saw that heart and almost cried. I don't even know why exactly, but that's how I feel. That's what Clara's art does—it finds you where you are.

This piece is about love, disability, friendship, and seeing beauty in what's different. It's sweet, it's powerful, and it's so Clara.

Hi, I’m Clara.

Sometimes people tell me I shouldn’t dream so big. That because I can’t speak, read, or write, I should “stay quiet.” But I don’t want to stay quiet. I want to paint louder.

I had a stroke while I was still in my mom’s womb. The doctors told her my life would be a nightmare. But here I am — building my future.

Even though I can’t speak, read, or write, I understand three languages — English, Portuguese, and Italian. I guess my brain found its own way to communicate, just not the one doctors expected.

I’m writing this with the help of my mom (my business partner, my best friend, and my biggest cheerleader) and ChatGPT — and reading it with my text-to-speech app.

Painting became my language. It’s how I share everything I can’t say with words — my love, my anger, my hope, and my joy. Because even if my voice sounds different, I want you to hear me.

Clara is speaking louder than ever in this new collection, and wow, do we hear her.

Unmuted is full of surprises. You'll see tiny, careful drawings where Clara used hundreds of little shapes to build something bigger—like a giraffe with a rainbow tale she saw at the zoo, or Chocolate, her guinea pig who she loved so much, or a friend's dog. You'll find these mix, big paintings, small artworks, some bright colors and glitter cnstrating with  pieces are soft and gentle with pastels. 

The animals in these works are special. Animals don't use words either, but they communicate everything—through how they move, how they look at you, how they just are. Clara gets that. She sees herself in them. And when she paints them, she's painting her own voice too.

What we love most about this collection is the freedom in it. Clara is experimenting, taking risks, making art that's mirror her. Small pieces, medium ones, huge canvases that are 48x60 inches—each one is Clara saying something that we still need to look, star at it, handle our emotions and be ready for a wave of beauty.
