Once upon a time, Clara met the Best Friends Forever: Scarlet and Rob.

Scarlet is a happy girl full of joy, and Rob is a super cool, hyper Dalmatian with spots everywhere. They are inseparable. If you see Scarlet, you see Rob. If you see Rob, you see Scarlet. That's just how it is.

Rob has taken care of Scarlet since she was a baby. They grew up together, side by side, always. When they walk in the park, everyone stops to look, to play, to comment on how sweet they are together. Rob and Scarlet are the definition of perfect friendship, trust, and love.

Clara got to meet them, and she fell completely in love. She was so inspired by their bond that she had to paint them. Look at Rob with his black and white spots, his striped legs, standing tall and proud. And there's Scarlet holding her toys—a giraffe on the left (because ever since Clara visited the San Diego Zoo, she came back obsessed with giraffes and has already drawn six different ones!) and something special on the right.

The background is full of color and energy, just like their friendship. Reds, pinks, purples, oranges: all that joy and love filling the space around them.

This painting is inspired by a real story. BFF is the one if you love the magic of a girl and her dog, if you believe in friendships that last forever, if you know what it means to have someone who's always by your side no matter what.

Hi, I’m Clara.

Sometimes people tell me I shouldn’t dream so big. That because I can’t speak, read, or write, I should “stay quiet.” But I don’t want to stay quiet. I want to paint louder.

I had a stroke while I was still in my mom’s womb. The doctors told her my life would be a nightmare. But here I am — building my future.

Even though I can’t speak, read, or write, I understand three languages — English, Portuguese, and Italian. I guess my brain found its own way to communicate, just not the one doctors expected.

I’m writing this with the help of my mom (my business partner, my best friend, and my biggest cheerleader) and ChatGPT — and reading it with my text-to-speech app.

Painting became my language. It’s how I share everything I can’t say with words — my love, my anger, my hope, and my joy. Because even if my voice sounds different, I want you to hear me.

Clara is speaking louder than ever in this new collection, and wow, do we hear her.

Unmuted is full of surprises. You'll see tiny, careful drawings where Clara used hundreds of little shapes to build something bigger—like a giraffe with a rainbow tale she saw at the zoo, or Chocolate, her guinea pig who she loved so much, or a friend's dog. You'll find these mix, big paintings, small artworks, some bright colors and glitter cnstrating with  pieces are soft and gentle with pastels. 

The animals in these works are special. Animals don't use words either, but they communicate everything—through how they move, how they look at you, how they just are. Clara gets that. She sees herself in them. And when she paints them, she's painting her own voice too.

What we love most about this collection is the freedom in it. Clara is experimenting, taking risks, making art that's mirror her. Small pieces, medium ones, huge canvases that are 48x60 inches—each one is Clara saying something that we still need to look, star at it, handle our emotions and be ready for a wave of beauty.
