We are going to Italy!!! Press Release
Clara Woods, 19, is an Italian artist, entrepreneur, and motivational speaker who, after receiving a U.S. visa as an extraordinary talent and moving to California in 2020, returns to Italy five years later, to present her lat artshow tour UNMUTED and check in with her Olympic artwork in Milan, with a deeply transformed artistic and personal journey.
This return comes at a pivotal moment in her career: her participation as an official artist of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, the exhibition of her artwork “Love You” at the Olympic Museum at Triennale Milano, and a global community of over 2 million followers who engage with her work and message across social media platforms.
Over the years, Clara has established herself not only as an international artist but also as a role model for different generations, proving that disability does not limit talent, vision, or impact. Her journey is now recognized globally for its ability to unite art, inclusion, and authentic communication.
Returning to Italy represents a symbolic moment: an open dialogue between her roots and the path she built abroad, between the artist she has become and the country where it all began.
Clara also brings THE UNMUTED Tour 2026 to Italy — an artistic and cultural project that
carries her voice into public spaces, media, and live encounters.
Who Is Clara Woods?
Born in Florence, Clara Woods experienced a perinatal stroke, which caused motor challenges and left her unable to speak, read, or write, although she understands English, Portuguese, and Italian. This has never prevented her from communicating. Clara chose art as one of her languages, transforming painting into her voice.
Today, she is an internationally recognized artist with over 30 exhibitions across three
continents, more than 1,000 original artworks sold, collaborations with major brands and
cultural institutions, and she has been named Gamechanger” by Forbes.
She was also selected as an official artist of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, becoming the youngest artist ever to create an official Olympic poster.
“Sometimes people think that because I can’t speak, I don’t have a voice. But I do — and I also use colors instead of words. That’s how I paint: with my hands, my energy, with hope and love. And even if my voice sounds different, I want you to hear me.” — Clara Woods
UNMUTED Tour 2026 – Italy Dates
Milan – February 27, 2026
On February 27, UNMUTED Tour 2026 will stop in Milan with a special event hosted by
Fondazione Maimeri at the Milan Painting Academy. The event will celebrate Clara Woods’ art and an important career milestone, marked by her participation in the 2026 Olympic Games.
Exclusive artworks, never before shown in Italy, will be presented in a setting that brings together artistic research, inclusion, and cultural dialogue.
The evening will also share a clear message: art breaks barriers, goes beyond the limits of language, and creates authentic connections between people.
Florence – March 3, 2026
On March 3, UNMUTED Tour arrives in Florence, Clara’s hometown, with a unique event at Toscanino – La Rinascente, Piazza della Repubblica. On this occasion, Clara will create an artwork with direct public interaction. The goal is to create a true conversation between the artist and the audience, even without words. Through gestures, colors, eye contact, and shared energy, the artwork will take shape as a collective experience.
An intimate and powerful moment, demonstrating that communication can exist beyond spoken language and that art can become a space of mutual listening.
Who Is Betina Genovesi?
Betina Genovesi is Clara’s mother, as well as the strategist, curator, and driving force behind Clara Woods Collection and The Inclusion Matters Movement. After leaving her own entrepreneurial career, Betina chose to build a future with Clara, not for Clara, transforming her daughter’s artistic talent into a sustainable, inclusive, and international platform. Genovesi's work focuses on moving disability from the sidelines into the mainstream, championing the idea that everyone has a voice.
A Unique Way of Communicating
During live, online, or radio interviews, Clara and Betina communicate in a deeply synchronized and unique way. Sometimes, a single look is enough for Betina to translate what Clara wants to express. Clara also uses a text-to-speech communication device, which allows her to introduce herself and respond independently, showing that accessibility is a tool for freedom and independence.
