The Inclusion Matters Podcast - Their Story Will Change The Way You See Life - The Frost Family
We’ve been following the Frost Family for a while now. They’re one of those families you feel close to, even if you’ve never met them in person. There’s something about the way they live that makes you stop and think. They remind us of what really matters—joy, family, connection, and the courage to keep going even when things get hard.
Clara and Adin finally got to sit down with them on The Inclusion Matters Podcast this week, and I'm so happy thinking about the conversation.
Tim, Deanda, and their son Odin are a musical family. They’re a family that chooses every day to see each other fully, to support one another, and to make space for love, even on the hard days.
Their story is a mix of deep pain and deep healing. Tim grew up in an environment that left scars, but he found his way out by holding on to creativity, to stories, and later, to the family he built with Deanda.
Odin, their son, is autistic and non-verbal. And here’s where their story touched me the most. In the beginning, like many of us, Tim and Deanda didn’t fully understand Odin’s way of communicating.
But instead of staying stuck in what they thought parenting should look like, they chose to slow down and listen in a new way. They were humble enough to admit they didn’t have all the answers—and brave enough to ask for help.
Little by little, they realized that Odin had a lot to say. He just wasn’t using words. Through sound, movement, presence, and music, he expresses so much. And they opened the door for him to be a full part of their world—not just on the side. They didn’t speak "about" Odin. They included him. Fully. And that changed everything.
This episode of The Inclusion Matters Podcast is a powerful reminder that inclusion isn’t about perfection or getting it right the first time. It’s about trying, failing, learning, and showing up again. It’s about building a chosen family who sees you, supports you, and stands with you—even when life is trying to survive.
For anyone raising a child with disabilities, for anyone who has felt like they were on the outside looking in, or for anyone trying to create a more compassionate world—this conversation is for you.
Please go listen to The Frost Family episode on The Inclusion Matters Podcast. I believe it will shift something inside you, just like it did for us. Their music is beautiful, but their love is what stays with you.

Leave a review if you can—it helps more than you know, as we keep learning and growing this movement together.
Sending love and colors,

Tim Frost gets my vote for sweetest dad ever!!
He radiates love & peace which envelopes his entire family in a freeing world where love surrounds everything they do, and they do it all — Tim once explained “We’re the family that tries.” Far away adventures or new flavor at the ice cream shop, the Frost family provides opportunity & gentle encouragement while allowing their son Odin to express himself freely and taking cues from him about what he’d like to next… Chosen family is another gift & lesson from the Frosts, that we are most at home when with people who love us as we love them, no biological ties required.
