This artwork by Clara Woods, found among her sketches, is done with markers on paper, measuring 12x16 inches. It might look incomplete at first, but it holds a powerful emotional message. Clara drew herself with a dark-skinned face, something she’s done before and something we love. She portrayed Carlo and me with dark and blond hair, showing her unique way of seeing us. Everyone in the family has blue eyes, except for me, which is true in real life.

Clara also included her iconic happy sun and many hearts floating above the house. When I asked her why she drew her face with dark skin and chose those hair colors for us, she simply said, “I just did it.” The hearts above the house and the changing colors of the sky represent that, even during difficult times, love always wins. This piece, though simple in appearance, beautifully captures Clara’s view of her family and her belief in the strength of love.

SPOTTED IN

Hi, I’m Clara.

I had a stroke inside my mom’s belly, so I can’t speak, read, or write—but I understand three languages and use art to share my feelings with the world.

I started painting when I was 11, just for fun. Then I read a book about Frida Kahlo and everything changed. She became my muse, and I decided to follow her steps. At 12, I had my first art exhibition—and never stopped.

Since then, I’ve had shows on three continents, became one of the official artists for the 2026 Olympic Games, and was named a Forbes Game Changer. Today, I’m also leading The Inclusion Matters Movement—to make sure everyone feels seen, valued, and loved just as they are.
