Clara is growing up now, becoming a young adult, and it's not always easy. She has big challenges because of her disability. But instead of just accepting how things are, she's creating her own path. She's making her dreams happen. The bright greens are her power, her energy, her way of saying "I'm doing this." The dark colors are the hard stuff she's pushing through to get there.

Hi, I’m Clara.

Sometimes people tell me I shouldn’t dream so big. That because I can’t speak, read, or write, I should “stay quiet.” But I don’t want to stay quiet. I want to paint louder.

I had a stroke while I was still in my mom’s womb. The doctors told her my life would be a nightmare. But here I am — building my future.

Even though I can’t speak, read, or write, I understand three languages — English, Portuguese, and Italian. I guess my brain found its own way to communicate, just not the one doctors expected.

I’m writing this with the help of my mom (my business partner, my best friend, and my biggest cheerleader) and ChatGPT — and reading it with my text-to-speech app.

Painting became my language. It’s how I share everything I can’t say with words — my love, my anger, my hope, and my joy. Because even if my voice sounds different, I want you to hear me.

  • I’m Clara Woods—an artist, entrepreneur, and game-changer on a mission to inspire. I was born a a stroke in my mom’s womb, which left me unable to speak, read, or write. My mom even sold her own successful company to focus on my career, and our bond is at the heart of everything we’ve achieved.

    Today, I’ve hosted over 30 exhibitions across three continents, sold more than 800 original artworks, and built an amazing global community of over 1.5 million followers. I was honored to be named an Internet Gamechanger by Forbes and Facebook for the positive impact I’ve made on inclusion and creativity.

  "Sometimes people think that because I can't speak, I don't have a voice. But I do — and I also use colors instead of words. That's how I paint: with my hands, my energy, with hope and love. And even if my voice sounds different, I want you to hear me." — Clara

Clara is speaking louder than ever in this new collection, and wow, do we hear her.

Unmuted is full of surprises. You'll see tiny, careful drawings where Clara used hundreds of little shapes to build something bigger—like a giraffe with a rainbow tale she saw at the zoo, or Chocolate, her guinea pig who she loved so much, or a friend's dog. You'll find these mix, big paintings, small artworks, some bright colors and glitter cnstrating with  pieces are soft and gentle with pastels. 

The animals in these works are special. Animals don't use words either, but they communicate everything—through how they move, how they look at you, how they just are. Clara gets that. She sees herself in them. And when she paints them, she's painting her own voice too.

What we love most about this collection is the freedom in it. Clara is experimenting, taking risks, making art that's mirror her. Small pieces, medium ones, huge canvases that are 48x60 inches—each one is Clara saying something that we still need to look, star at it, handle our emotions and be ready for a wave of beauty.
