Manifest has a cool place in our story. Clara created it for her Pick Joy exhibition at Art Basel in 2022, and it was painted on a recycled material — just like the entire collection. 

When you look at it, you can read: “I’m so happy you’re here.” - "Ciao, I’m Clara Woods.”
Some parts of the text are not easy to understand, so you need time with this artwork. Every person who sees it in our house ends up standing in front of it for a long time, staring at it and trying to catch up!

In our house, we hung it raw, exactly as it came — but you can frame it if you want. It works both ways.

Today, we were talking with Clara’s neurologist, and he said something that explains Manifest better than anything. He told us Clara’s brain is artistic, and there are things we just need to accept because that’s who she is. The important part is how much she motivates people, how many lives she touches with her story. And then he said the same thing we hear all the time:

“If Clara did it… why can’t we?”

Manifest is Clara saying:  I’m happy you’re here.

The artworks have a layer of UV acrylic translucent paint. You can wipe off dust with a humid toil.

Hi, I’m Clara.

Sometimes people tell me I shouldn’t dream so big. That because I can’t speak, read, or write, I should “stay quiet.” But I don’t want to stay quiet. I want to paint louder.

I had a stroke while I was still in my mom’s womb. The doctors told her my life would be a nightmare. But here I am — building my future.

Even though I can’t speak, read, or write, I understand three languages — English, Portuguese, and Italian. I guess my brain found its own way to communicate, just not the one doctors expected.

I’m writing this with the help of my mom (my business partner, my best friend, and my biggest cheerleader) and ChatGPT — and reading it with my text-to-speech app.

Painting became my language. It’s how I share everything I can’t say with words — my love, my anger, my hope, and my joy. Because even if my voice sounds different, I want you to hear me.

The Sparkle Collection

It started on a rainy afternoon here in Southern California.
We were all a bit tired. Everything was messy.
I had fallen down the stairs, I was hurt, everything stopped… and when you run a small business, that shock hits hard.
The holiday can be overwhelming.
Too much work, too many memories, missing people who aren’t here anymore.
So we took a pause and a deep breath, and said,
“Let’s go inside and see what we can do.”
Then a sparkle of hope showed up.
My body started healing faster than anyone expected.
A sparkle of support arrived as well; with Najat and Clara stepping in, taking photos, organizing the studio, and getting everything ready so that we could get back on track again.
Inside the studio, we found artworks that were just sitting there, waiting — almost asking to shine again.
Different styles, different colors, different sizes, different techniques.

That was our sparkle.
