The Healing Power of Art.
Hi guys,
I’ve been thinking about how art can heal and change how we feel. A recent article pointed out that just looking at a painting can boost our emotional‑well‑being, our memory, our sense of connection.
I read an article in an Italian newspaper (Corriere della Sera) about the power of art. It says that hanging a piece of art in your home, visiting a gallery, or simply spending a few minutes with a painting is a way to live better.
When we started this journey, I didn’t know anything about art. Not how to talk about it, not how to sell it, not even how to understand it. We were trying to build something with Clara — give her a space to be herself and create a future.
In my marketing mind, it was so hard to understand the value of it because art is not tangible and it is not logical. Then I started reading the messages and how people felt about opening Clara's art and looking at it every day, and I started understanding the power of art and of course the power of Clara's art!
Linking back to the article, art offers emotional, cognitive, social, and resilience benefits.
Clara’s work invites us to see what is possible, to believe that difference isn’t weakness, and to live with more heart.
It was a large international study involving nearly 7,000 people, published in The Journal of Positive Psychology.
And here’s what they found:
You don’t have to create art to feel its power.
Just being near it, looking at it, can do something inside you.
Being in contact with art — even passively — increases emotional well-being. It gives people a sense of purpose, of meaning, of personal growth. The researchers called it “contiguity with art.” Basically, just sharing space with art can help you feel more grounded, more connected, more alive.
And when I read that, I thought: Yes. I’ve seen that.
I’ve seen people open a box with Clara’s artwork inside and cry.
I’ve seen collectors send us messages saying that her painting is the first thing they look at every morning, and it gives them strength to face the day.
I’ve seen a person tattoo Clara’s name on their wrist because her story and her work helped them through the hardest part of their life.
This is the impact we don’t always know how to measure.
But it’s real.
"And I get it now —
Art heals!"
So cool!
